???????????????????????????????  ???????????????????????????????

In 1963, The Snowy Day by Ezra Jack Keats won the Caldecott Medal.  It is a treasure of a book, one often overlooked.  I love introducing it to first graders.  After the reading and a discussion about his art, the kids used paper cut-outs to create their own snowy day scene.  January has been very mild here in Oregon, so it was a little harder to tap into the imagination!  I think they did a great job.
